Lorraine creates paintings about the simple joys in life such as our loved ones and pets, and our connection with the natural world. Many of her paintings are inspired by the local landscape where she lives and works as an artist and therapeutic counsellor in Dorset.
A sense of story telling is apparent in Lorraine's work and many of her landscapes enjoy an exploration of mark making, leaning into abstraction.
Lorraine also makes oil painting, coloured pencil drawings and sculpture about our inner world. She shares these as a means to encourage personal congruence, honesty and self awareness. Woven throughout her art is an integrated sense of transpersonal connection.
Lorraine graduated with a BA Hons in Sculpture from Kent Institute of Art and Design in Canterbury in 1995 and has exhibited widely throughout the South of England and London in both group and solo shows throughout her art career.
In 2000 she completed at PGCE at The University of the West of England in Bristol qualifying her to teach Secondary Art and Design and she worked as and art and special needs teacher for almost twenty years. Between 2015 and 2019 Lorraine trained as an Integrative Counsellor at The Sweet Track Therapy Centre in Glastonbury. Setting up private practice in December 2019, she then achieved Accreditation with the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists in 2023.
